HOW LONG DOES AN APPLICATION FOR A PERMANENT VISA USUALLY TAKE? Go to Top

The time required to process an application for a permanent visa can vary between 8 to 20 months depending on the country in which the application was filed. Delays in application processing are often related to the number of applications received and the size of the Canadian Immigration office. When the need arises, and for specific cases, we can advise the client where to process the file and at what pace to deal with the application. A new "fast-track" procedure is being tried out at certain immigration offices. With this procedure, well-prepared applications may be processed more rapidly, which may reduce processing time by up to one half the usual processing time.
